These days and every day, let's remember that there are local heroes out there doing good! Performance artist Kristina Wong, who premiered her side-splitting one-woman show "Kristina Wong for Public Office" at the Skirball this past February and who often crafts her own props, has been sewing masks and sending them to those on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic, like nurses, doctors, and firefighters. You can support her DIY operation by donating elastic and clean fabric, which should be 100% cotton, tightly woven material (cut up from t-shirts or any clean cloth you're willing to part with). Better yet, if you have the skills and a sewing machine, she welcomes your help in sewing masks. Just message her @mskristinawong for how to get involved.
Thank you, Kristina, for identifying a need and jumping in to help build a better world. And our gratitude to all of the first responders and healthcare professionals who put themselves at risk every day to help protect and heal our communities. | Regram @mskristinawong
