About the Workshop
Join artist Ari Salka and writer Rebecca Schultz for an intimate, hands-on workshop exploring the story of Passover through watercolor and creative writing. Inspired by themes of transformation, ritual, and liberation, participants will experiment with visual and written expression to reimagine ancient stories in personal, contemporary ways.
No prior experience necessary; curiosity and creativity encouraged.
About the Instructors
Ari Salka (Set Design) is an artist working primarily working through painting, drawing, and poetry. Salka holds a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and MFA in Painting from UCLA. Salka studied at the Yale Norfolk Summer School of Art and received the Ellen Battell Stoeckel Fellowship in Norfolk, CT. Salka's work is featured in libraries and collections, including the LACA, the UCLA Arts Library, and the ROSA KWIR Archive in Mosta, Malta.
Rebecca Shultz (Writer) writes fiction about reality dating show contestants, American tourists abroad, Swifties, fifth-grader Kabbalists, and other people. Her work has appeared in the Los Angeles Review of Books and in the Santa Monica Review, where it was nominated for a Pushcart Prize. She teaches fiction and poetry at UC Irvine.
