Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays

Family Art Making activities will take place in Taper Courtyard classrooms from September 1–November 30, 2025 (unless otherwise noted below). Dates are also subject to change.

Children must be accompanied by an adult 18 and up; minimum adult/child ratio is 1:4.

About the Program

Enjoy one-of-a-kind art projects themed around Skirball exhibitions, Jewish traditions, and the importance of caring for the world. Reinforcing the values of collaboration and community, these activities can be done anytime during your visit.

Current and Upcoming Projects

  • September 4–28—Action Bubbles*
    Bam! Pow! Boom! Create your own speech and action bubbles inspired by the exhibition Jack Kirby: Heroes and Humanity.
     
  • October 4–November 2—Paper Sukkahs*
    Celebrate the joyous festival of Sukkot by constructing your own paper sukkah.
     
  • November 6–30—Animal Masks*
    Get ready for the reopening of Noah's Ark at the Skirball by creating your own furry and fierce animal mask.
     
  • December 4–January 4—Hanukkah Lamps
    Use repurposed materials to create your own Hanukkah lamp. Let your light shine bright!
